About Samuel James M.D.
Dr. Samuel D. James is a pathologist at Meharry Medical Group and an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology, Anatomy and Cell Biology at Meharry Medical College.
He received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology at Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga., a medical degree at Meharry Medical College, and completed his residency and fellowship training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
In addition to Meharry, Dr. James holds a joint faculty position as an Assistant Professor at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Department of Pathology, Microbiology and Immunology.
He is a member of several professional organizations, including the Rodger C. Haggitt Gastrointestinal Pathology Society, the United States and Canadian Society of Pathology and the American Society for Clinical Pathology. His practice and research interest include gastrointestinal pathology with a focus in inflammatory bowel disease.
