About Racquel Johnson D.D.S
Dr. Racquel Johnson is a board-certified pediatric dentist at Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. She teaches predoctoral dental students at the School of Dentistry and treats infants, children, adolescent and patients with special health care needs at Total Health Medical and Dental Care clinic.
Dr. Johnson is an East Harlem, New York native. She attended Cornell University and dental school at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Johnson pursued postgraduate dental training in general dentistry for 2 years at BronxCare Health System (formerly Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center). She then completed 2-year pediatric dentistry training at University of Connecticut Health Sciences Center. Dr. Johnson then went on to become an Attending Pediatric Dentist at BronxCare Health System for their inaugural class of pediatric dental residents.
Dr. Johnson then pursed private practice in pediatric dentistry for 3 years before building her own pediatric dental practice in Marlton, New Jersey. She was in private practice from 2005-2019. During this time, Dr. Johnson earned her MBA from Rutgers School of Business in Camden, New Jersey. Dr. Johnson has always enjoyed teaching and thus sought ways to enter dental academia, teaching at Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. She was an Attending at Nemours/AI duPont Hospital for Children prior to accepting the Pediatric Dentistry Residency Program Director position at Meharry.
In her spare time, Dr. Johnson enjoys reading, volunteering, traveling and spending time with friends and loved ones.
